About this car
Ask around in Georgia what to rent for a big group heading into the hills and the answer is usually the Mitsubishi Delica D:5. Ours is a 2012, an eight-seat van on a four-wheel-drive chassis, tall and boxy, with the driver sitting up front like a bus. It is slower than a Prado and much more sociable.
Eight seats and five doors, with four large bags behind the last row. Fold the rear seats flat and two people can sleep inside, handy by a lake in Svaneti. The 2.4 litre petrol engine with an automatic gearbox uses around 11 litres per 100 km. Four-wheel drive and high clearance handle the gravel to Juta, Omalo and Ushguli.

- Free. Same age and licence requirements, listed in the agreement.
