For the full Caucasus loop, take the Toyota Land Cruiser Prado 2018: Tbilisi to Kazbegi, across to Svaneti, down to Batumi and back through Kutaisi, with the hard sections done in comfort rather than endured. It is as capable as anything we rent in Georgia and quieter at highway speed than most of it.
A 2.8 litre diesel with an automatic gearbox, four-wheel drive with low range, and about 9.5 litres per 100 km, modest for its size. Seven seats and five doors, with room for four large bags. Ushguli, Omalo, the track above Juta: it will go anywhere you point it, and it does not need to be driven hard to get there.
Unlimited mileage inside Georgia is included, which matters on a loop that can pass two thousand kilometres. Two weeks paid brings five more days on us, and the cross-border permit for Armenia or Türkiye can be added if the loop grows.

- Same to same: return with the fuel level you picked up. Petrol cars take 95 octane or higher; check the pump before refuelling.
- Driver
- 22+ years old, 2+ years of driving. Any licence in Latin script.
- Second driver
- Free. Same age and licence requirements, listed in the agreement.

- Free up to 24 hours before pickup. No prepayment, nothing to refund.

- 1 hour free. 1–3 hours charged by the hour, over 3 hours a full extra day.
