Our most requested crossover, and the one we would rent ourselves for a two-week loop of Georgia. The Toyota RAV4 2020 is a hybrid with all-wheel drive, so it climbs to Gudauri without the engine straining and rolls through Tbilisi on electric power at walking pace. It feels solid and, in the best sense, unremarkable.
The 2.5 litre hybrid averages about 5.8 litres per 100 km, which on a Tbilisi to Mestia to Batumi week means one fuel stop where a petrol crossover needs two or three. Five seats and three large suitcases. AWD and good clearance handle Juta, the Kazbegi valleys and the Kakheti gravel; it has no low range, so the Tusheti road is still Pajero territory.

- 22+ years old, 2+ years of driving. Any licence in Latin script.

- Free. Same age and licence requirements, listed in the agreement.
